While fishing the Grapevine tourney last my Kistler H2 ltx blew up on me. Called em and they said since it was over 1 year old that I was out of luck..What a piece of you know what!! Pay 300+ for a rod and this is what we get.. Back to Dobyns and Loomis with their great product support, pay a small fee and they take care of it.. sorry had to let it out. Not trying to stir the kettle just venting. I have 5 lta's in great shape i'll sell for 125 each..

setyr has a lifetime waranty a friend got me hooked up with them and i love em. Got 13 of them now LOL

I have a Hendrix rod and I like it alot also. I like my Hendrix for carolina rig. Might be buying more soon..

Tell you what, check out Scott with Anglers Edge Tackle. Couldn't ask for better customer service. I've broken two of my rods I bought with him over the last year and after either a phone call or an email, he ended up meeting me the next week near my office with a new rod and no questions asked. All of his rods have a 5yr warranty. Great rod and I've caught many-a-fish on the baitcasters and the spinning rods. Just my opinion. Good Luck.

You talked with Trey Kistler yourself? I know Trey personally and there is not a more honest upstanding, christian around. He will no doubt stand behind his products. I have seen him do it a hundred times.

NO I did not. I spoke to someone in customer service and when she said sorry there's not much we can do I started to fade out and need to read to them the actual rod specs so they can determine if there's anything more they can do. I told the I'll pay a fee if I can get it exchanged and they said no.

WOW, if that is true I will never buy another Kistler rod again. A 250.00+ rod with a 1 year warranty? No thank you. My CHEAPEST St Croix has a 5 year warranty, and I paid less than half the price of my LTAs for it.


It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

You need to talk with Trey or Clifford. I will be surprised if they won't do something for you on a year old rod. Most of the time they want to look at the rod before they make a determination anyway.

That cannot be correct. Call Kistler back, ask for Ryan. There is a fee. but they will replace it. Someone gave you bad information. Just call back, and ask for Ryan

Here is a cut and paste of Kistler's warranty. Looks like after one year they pro-rate the rod some how. I would call Trey and see what it up. My experience with them in the past has be great and I am they will do something to help you out.

Warranty
World Class "No Hassle" Warranty
Kistler Rods guarantees that you will be completely satisfied with your purchase. When your order arrives, inspect it carefully. If you are not completely satisfied, return any unused item within 10 days for exchange or refund. Please include a copy of sales receipt for proper credit. Shipping charges incurred due to the return of merchandise are the responsibility of the customer in most cases.

Kistler rods are individually inspected to insure that the highest quality of standards is exceeded. Should a problem occur with your rod during the first 90 days of fishing due to defects in materials or workmanship, the rod will be repaired or replaced Hassle Free at no charge. (FREE)

Most warranty failures occur during the first few uses as a result of defective materials or workmanship. If you have a problem after the 90 days yet less than one year of fishing, Kistler Rods will offer you a No Hassle replacement for a $35.00 deductible plus the $15 to cover return postage. After one year of ownership of your rod, if you ever have a problem, take advantage of our pro-rated warranty program. We will age your rod and let you know your replacement cost in order to outfit you again with a new Kistler Rod.

Blank failure after extensive use is usually caused by outside influences such as damaging bumps and nicks as well as over compounding the natural bend of the rod blank. All of the rods carry a limited lifetime warranty. This warranty applies to the original full price purchaser only. Rods that are repairable will be done so at no charge except the return postage of $15.00.

This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the rod only and does not cover consequential or incidental damages, which Kistler Custom Fishing Rods shall not be held liable for. This warranty is not intended to cover accidental breakage by abuse or neglect.

To process a warranty effectively, please send the rod to our warranty department. Include your full name, full shipping and mailing address, email address and a daytime phone number. Also, include a check or money order for $15.00 to cover return postage and the $35.00 to cover your deductible if applicable in your situation. These items will help to expedite your warranty claim with a one week turnaround (when inventory is available) once we receive your rod.

Like someone told me once about Kistler....."they have a lifetime warranty if your lifetime is 90 days". Kinda mis-leading to me.
