well weather cooperated so i finally was able to take the boys out to Grapevine for some fishing. The morning was still kinda windy. Not so bad we couldn't go out but rough enough that we kept to the coves. Caught about a dozen between us by lunch but decided we had to stop for cheeseburgers.

Rested up for a couple hours nad then went back out in the middle of the afternoon. Winds had settled down and so we ran over to the dam to see if the sandies were in the bubbles yet.

I am happy to report, the sandies are starting to hit in the bubbles pretty good. We had to work at it to figure them out but finally got them dialed in and caught a bunch of them with a good amount of little ones but some in the 1 to 1.5lb range. Fish were suspended at 12-15 feet and biting very light on shad.

There were a few boats out and everyone was catching some fish. We kept a dozen of the fat ones and fried them up with onions and potatos for dinner. Yumm! Great day with the boys and we did stretch some lines!

nice report. Should be no time before the bubbles are crowded with people AND fish

Yep, I expect a couple more weeks and the sandies should be thick in the bubbles and of course the boats will be almost as thick. No worries though, by then, the surface schools will get rolling and then the real fun starts.

Thanks for the report. Thinking of sneaking out Friday morning to the Vine, depending on wind, weather.

should be good weather friday according to weather channel. Be sure to report back if you try the bubbles. I'll be curious to hear how it went.
