Arlington is announcing that it will open up new access to the trinity river, and will eventually have 9 miles of fishable access to the river. Carp beware!!! Can't wait!!

It might be part of the same project, but they've also got a plan to create a paddling trail around lake arlington.

You can already access a lot of interesting river by putting in at beach street and going all the way to loop 12 if you want. Lots of bridges to get out at. Oh yeah they built a low water dam or two since I ran the river in to dallas but they are short portages. Major whirlpool near grand Prairie's dump so avoid it hard to the left. Awesome fishing behind the old Wax Museum.

Tell you what I would like to do, that would be to run the trinity from I20 to 34 or 31. Pure Texas tough piece of river.

I'm interested in paddling/fishing the Trinity from River Legacy to Mike Lewis Park. I have a 17' Coleman Scanoe. Looking for a partner to make this little run. Anyone interested in joining me on a Saturday/ Sunday morning paddle-fish PM me. I would prefer someone who has some experience in a canoe. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_br_t3200_1020.pdf
