I got my 92' Johnson 115 V4 cranked yesterday, with no problems... It started right up, running pretty smooth. Just revved a little high. my Tach isn't working, so I just adjusted it by ear the best I could.

I let it run on the muffs about 3 times for about 5 minutes now. Haven't had any problems, I'm aware of.

So far so good... I think I'll take it to the lake tomorrow, and start slowly breakin' it in.

I guess I should try and fix the tach first though.

Yea you might want to get the tach working. Dont want to blow the engine after rebuilding it.

gotta love it when it all goes according to plan.

tach not working might indicate bad rectifier.

set your WOT timing before you take it to the lake:

Thanks for all your help Jtexas. Took it out today and it ran pretty good, just had to do a few "on the water adjustments".

Got my tach working this morning (loose plug in control box)

I haven't set my WOT timing though. I'll be sure to take care of that pretty quick (if it's not over my head).

Thanks again for all your help. cheers

Do you need a distributorless ignition adapter to check your timing?
