Does anyone use a Shimano 50 MG with braid?

I use 30lb power pro on a Scorpion 1000 mg on my swimmimg jig rod - never had a problem. I don't crank down on the drag and have landed up to 8lbs on this rig.

All my reels are Shimano 50mg's and all but one is loaded with 20# super braid. They will hold about 70 yards and have never given me a problem.

Mary does and she loves it. She immediately noticed the difference in sensitivty and she never missed a fish the first day she used it. Now she's sold on braid.

I have found that using all braid does not work as well as leaving some other line as backing. Leave some of your fluoro. as backing.

I only use 50yds. of braid with mono as backing. It seems to cause less backlashing. 50yds. may seem like too little of line, but if a Bass gets out that far chances are you won't win the battle.

The lighter the bait or weight you use, the more braid seems to want to backlash as you go up with the # line. I try to stay with 20# - 30# with lighter worm rigs. On my C-rigs I have 50#, it doesn't cast 1/4 oz. weights real well. 3/8 oz. is about as small as I can go.
