Anybody use a strap to hold down the trolling motor when travelling across rough water? I have seen the ram mount idea but mine bounces around too much on the motor end so I don't think the ram mount idea would help much. The strap seems like a hassle but might be worth it to keep the TM from bouncing around so much. Thoughts?

Everytime I fire up the big motor. Nothing worse than a bouncing TM

I have a Rod Saver brand strap made for the TM. Bought it at Bass Pro.

Never had one on untill march of this year and will have one on from here on out. It cost me 400 bucks to fix my TM from the beating it took from big waves at fork. It's well worth the time and money to install one.

Yes, I use a strap and I don't find it to be troublesome. I especially like it for safety in rough water and when trailering.

My Minnkota came with one and we only leave it off in glass slick water. Put it on on the way home too. Very helpful

I have one brand new in the box I'll sell for cheap. I bought it a while back and then went with the Ram Mount instead. I'll sell it for a good price since I have no need for it and since I bought it from BPS and I don't get out there very often.
PM me if interested.
