Does Brian Hughes read this forum? If so, he could possibly tell us another station that we could pick up live feed via the internet.

Boys, Boys, Boys. I've been in the radio business since 1970 and let me tell you something, it ain't gonna change. No matter how many call, send letters, emails etc. Radio is a business run by the bottom line. Bean counters now make the decisions, not program directors, operation managers or even general managers for that matter. Sorry. But, that's the way radio is these days.

I hate to hear that but it seems that is the trend nowdays. Local business could care less most of the time what you want or if you shop w/ them.

It all about the bottom line and ratings. Nothing will change until they've had an opportunity to follow the rating (which come out every 3 months) trends. If, after a year or so, after watching these ratings they may make a change.

If you haven't contacted KRLD please do so today. Even if you don't listen to the show, it is still in your interest to have a fishing related show on the radio.
The program direcor is Gavin Spittle 214-525-7000. Please air your protest that KRLD is carrying Bob Costas on Saturday morning instead of Brian Hughes Texas Fishing Show.

1Lipper, Do you sell ads for the Costas show? You keep copying and pasting the same tired response. Pick up the phone and call KRLD. Any business WILL respond to their customers. We can get them to change but only if WE respond.

No I don't sell ads for Costas. But like I said I'm in the radio business and I know how they think. I'm sorry, but they work on the numbers game. They'll watch the ratings for COstas and compare them to the outdoors program (generally, at minimum) for about a year. If the ratings for Costas is higher, the sale force can make some money because they can sell more commercials and the sale person makes more money. Then, when they are sold out they sell the commericals for a higher rate. It's numbers game.

Remember the Costas show is national syndicated, they CBS are under a contract to air it at some slot. I guarantee if enough local noise is made they will change their programming, when contacting KRLD inform them that you will be boycotting all of KRLD programming.
The sad news is KRLD is owned by CBS and I think they enjoy having the lowest rating and the fewest listeners.

The following is one of several emails I sent today. This one went to Jackson's Home and Garden's with a cc to Gavin Spittle the program director at KRLD.
Gavin's email address is Gavin.spittle@cbsradio.com
There is a list of KRLD's advertisers on their web site at KRLD.com Please email a few of them and let them know of the problem with KRLD.
Here is the email to Jacksons:
Sirs; I have previously purchased grilling supplies from Jackson Hone and Garden and am pleased with your store. However, I noticed that you are an advertiser on KRLD Radio. KRLD recently made the decision to not air the Texas Fishing and Outdoor Show on Saturday mornings. My friends and I strongly protest this decision by KRLD. One way to make sure that KRLD takes our concerns seriously is to let their advertisers know about our problems with their station. As a result, I will not be visiting your store again until such time as KRLD changes their decision. When your KRLD advertising rep next calls on you, please express our displeasure with their station.
Thank You,
