My Lowrance transducer just started making a loud snapping and ticking noise. It's a through the hull transducer and I can hear it all the way in the front of the boat. Any idea's? It's only a couple of months old.

I have two Eagle 320's and I can hear them tick.
From what I've been told that is a normal thing to tick while its on means it is working.

Mine had done that. But since I had to replace the transducer twice. Not from that but Fork, if you know what I mean. It has stopped.

The thru-hull transducer didn't click in my old boat. When I got my new one, I kept thinking something was wrong with the batteries or there was a bad wire. One stupid question later, and I found out it was the transducer. So mine clicks too.

I have an X25 with a thru-hull transducer on mine.

Guys, this is perfectly normal--it's supposed to "tick"--otherwise, I would be worried...

I have a X-27 on the fron t of my boat, and it clicks very loud. I turn it off when I am fishing shallow water. One good thing it sounds like a rattle trap.....

Think they start ticking just before they explode. Stand back.

I just thought that it was going bad, because it just started a couple of weeks ago. Was quite before. I can lift up the back lid and it sounds like it a machine gun inside.

Mine have always made that noise. I turn them off if I feel I might spook the fish.
