Been at rc since thursday wind is terrible .Went to the south side of lake and found fish in 24ft of water on timber and there on the bottom catching alot of fish but 1 in 4 are keepers and you have to lipem they are just barely hooked really a strange bite .Fish are not stacked under the bridge like they should be .All fish you had to pitch and let it swing and hit some timber and wait and thump .I like it and I dont but the fish are there just making you really makem bite is the key .Fished the docks some but not many . Im going to be here for a month so maybe I can figure them out

In that long time you are going to be there, you could become all us RC folks INFO CENTER. Keep us informed and stay out of the wind. You are so right about it getting dangerous.
Your tecknique that it took to catch some fish sounds complicated. I would have never tried it.
Are you putting in at one of the south marina's?

Darrell, Saterday afternoon my brother and i went and fished the bridge the wind was bad but got better closer to dark. we were just using jigs and put seven nice crappie in the boat all close to two pounds. only 3 under size, but they were bitting funny and with the waves rocking the boat so much was hard fishing.

I agree with you on that. Marc and I were there last year and we thought we were in the clear of standing timber following the red and green bouye marks. Once Marc given it more gas we hit a good stump and mess up the 225 Mecury outboard. Took us 2 hr to get to the nearest boat dock. Be careful out the when going thru standing timber.

Wind has been tough! However I've found the early morning (Monday and Tuesday) of this week that the wind hasn't been as strong here on the south side of the lake. I've been fishing standing timber near the shoreline (mostly for wind protection)in about 18 foot of water from 6AM to 9AM and have been scoring some nice fish.

Monday the Channel-Cats were very active and caught 13 11/2lb to 2lb cats before I caught a crappie. Caught 10 nice crappie out of same hole. Went back to same tree next day (Tuesday) and caught 21 crappie (no cats), alot were around 10 to 11 inches and were culled out so I ended up with only 8 good ones. Finally ran out of minnows.

Moore is right! I caught several very small crappie as small as 3 inches. If this wind will slow down to a reasonal speed crappie fishing ought to be pretty good. I've caught some nice fish, up to one and a half pounds, but haven't found any large fish yet.
