Say within 1 1/2 hour drive of the metro mess.
My vote goes to Ray Roberts. Not much boat traffic if you get above Wolf Island. Great crappie/ white / catfish / LMB populations.
The only negative about RR is the lack of facilities on the Lake (1 real marina) and if you want to fish Indian or Isle du Bois Creeks you have a fairly long boat ride since there are no launching ramps on the NE side of the lake.

I would say Whitney. You can also eat the fish without fear of being poisoned.

I am going to have to vote for Ray Bob. Have a 10.8 on the wall from there. Seem to not be able to catch anything over 3 at all the other lakes in DFW.....oh yhea it is closer also .

Lake Lewisville. If you can put up driving with the 60ft Cadamarans and cigar boats making 4ft wakes, crazy tubers, and jet skiers comin within feet of were your fishing. But seriously its a great lake
