I am going to purchase my first spool of Fluorocarbon line and would like to get everyones input on what line they consider to be the best and brands to avoid. I am going to spool it on my baitcaster for worming and spinnerbaits and crankbaits. I was thinking of buying 12lb but would like some suggestions. Thanks for any input.

I would stick with PLINE or Berkley 100% flourocarbon...I would go with at least 12 lb. test depending on water clarity and stucture you are fishing, and you may want to step up to 14lb. or so...Bring your wallet though...These will run @ least $20...

I haven't tried them all yet, but so far I like the Seaguar InvizX the best. I would use 15 lb. for worming and spinnerbaits and 10 or 12 lb. for crankbaits.

Seagar, P-Line, and Vicious in that order.

You get what you pay for in most cases. BPS is a few cents cheaper by the yard than Seaguar and Trilene. IMO i think the 3 lines are very similar. Seaguar and Trilene are more supple (easier handling) than BPS but as far as strenght, abrasion restistance they are about equal IMO. I use BPS personaly. Toray and Sunline are kind of the high end fluoros out there (by price that is) I have not tried Toray but Seaguar, Trilene are just as good as Sunline IMO and quite a bit less expensive.
Trilene is comming out with yet another fluorocarbon line in a few months, its supost to be even better than the 100% line, which means is will have the price tag of the Sunline and Toray if I was guessing.
Vicious is a good option for the money. Its a stiff fluoro, and dosent spool very well but for .02 cents a yard you dont have much room to gripe about it. I have started using it for practice line and its a good option for that.

Vicious works for me. You don't always get what you pay for, sometimes you get good quality for a good price. IMHO Vicious does that.

I use 17lb. XPS personally and like it. I have tried 12lb and 14lb and had a lot of trouble on hooksets. 17lb seems to be working good but I wouldn't use it for crank baits, not enough stretch

I used BPS XPS before I went to Vicious, both are good lines for the money. Vicious is a little less $/yd and I can get it locally without paying shipping.

Second 17 # BPS for flukes, spinnerbaits, football jigs. I use twelve for hard jerbaits and drop shot on baitcaster.

Vicious is great for the price but like stephen said it is stiff and can be hard to manage in the larger test. Seagar is the best I've used but it can get expensive if you have alot of combos and respool often.
