I mostly fish on Lake Mineral Wells and I constantly see bubbles coming up all over the lake.

Is it just some natural occurance?

Is it carp?

Is it a beaver with gas?

Always see it and never could figure out what it was....

It depends. If you see a trail of bubbles moving slowly in a given direction, it may well be a gator. Seen this many times in the Louisiana swamps.

Could also be a turtle stirring the bottom as he goes.

Gas ?, Jimmy Hoffa ?, who knows , LOL

I always think fish farts too.

But I tell ya, if you're crappie fishing and see a column of bubbles rise to the top, you'd better be the first person to put your jig in 'em. That fish is good as filleted. thumb

Lakes that have a lot of vegetation (that dies back every winter) or trees, leaves will have the decay. The gas is methane, I have heard stories that if you are real careful on a very calm day, you can actually hold a lighter close to the water and the bubbles will cause little flames when they pop. I've never tried to bust that myth, but I'ld bet someone on here has tried it! nuts

Or it could be carp or turtles stirring up bubbles as they feed and move along the bottom in shallower water, if they are smallish bubbles.
