Have newer model TM, 75lb wireless, bought this year at BPS.
While fishing Media on CC few weeks back, went to stow the unit and the motor fell off the shaft. Threads were clearly stripped out.
Took unit in for Repair at authorized repair shop for warranty. No problem yet! They said one week shipping one day repair, that was over 10 working business days. So I called again today.
Parts are back ordered until June 20th. I missed Legends one weekend, another this weekend, and a few more it appears.
Is this typical for MG Trolling motors, its gonna be my last for sure.

I've used Motorguides for years and never had one single problem with them. You get bad parts and workmanship sometimes in everything you buy. I have seen guys have problems with minnkota also. Never know when one of the guys assembling the unit has a hang over or a bad day and things dont get done right. Its just a fact of life. As much as it sucks. I would also call motorguide and rant to them and tell them whats up and how you are missing tournaments. Ya never know when you are gonna get a guy haveing a good day and send you a new unit. Never hurts to try!

I bought one last year and love it... and they knocked a big chunk off of it because it was a loaner for a guy that had one break down on him. When his was fixed they sold the loaner to me as used (barely), and this was at Gander Mountain.
You should see if they'll give you a loaner. It's not your fault it broke...

Now you understand why I use Minn Kota. Get a Maxxum 80 or 101 and you won't buy anything else ever again.

Their motto is "Never Stop Fishing".
Mine maybe, "Never Buy a MotorGuide AGAIN"!!!
45 days for a new TM to be repaired bites. No prefishing, missed a couple of tournies already, wanted to fish Ignition next weekend, will not have TM back for RC on 6/14, and will not have it back for Sealy's at Toledo Bend as well.
Not happy.

my used boat came with a motorguide. I broke it beyond repair and did so purposely out of frustration with unit. Minn Kota only for me!

I have a rebuilt MG if anyone wants it. I bought it as a spare but I now run a MK so it is for sale I live in Waco and could meet to save shipping. I bought the TM just after it was rebuilt it says 65lb on the head but it has a 71lb lower unit on it it is 24 volt I have never used it in 1.5yrs never had to but it works, it has the white head on it but like I said it has been rebuilt. I would probably ask 150 for it if anyone wanted it. I have a mount for it but it is in storage as we are buildiong a house right now and a ton of our stuff is in storage. call 254-339-0057 fof additional questions.

I bought a new (bery expensive) Motoguide and it has a world of slop in it. They say they will fix it if I bring it to them but I ain't going without a trolling motor for no telling how long. It will sure enough be Minn Kota for me from now on.

Part II,
First Off, if you noticed, the repair shop that has my TM was not mentioned, as I feel a repairman is only as good as the parts they receive.
I talked to MG after the shop gave me a June 20th ETA. When I came into the shop yesterday, MG has called and left message, they would be shipping today.
MotorGuides Motto is "Never Stop", and I felt a month and half was to long to wait for a part for a brand new TM.
Glad I decided to call them personally and explain how I felt.
