Afternoon should be better---this morning was rough(wind and fishing) Anton caught a hybrid or 2 all I could manage was sandbass. Was using big gizzard shad(5inch) and either yellow bass or sandbass would slam them and kill them almost instantly---frustrating.

yeah proline220, that was me... about the time I was catching on to what you guys were doing, my wife called with an electrical problem on the camper. By the time I got everything taken care of, the wind picked back up and I'm sure you 2 had cleaned out the area anyhow smile Good to meet you and Anton and also met Flying Dutchman at the boat ramp.

You guys have put a lot of pressure on that same area, which has benefited me. lol I have noticed the boat show over there for almost a week now. I probably should not be posting this but will stay off the water for a few days. Caught 14 hybrids yesterday and well over 100 sandies. Caught almost every cast from noon unitl 7. All fish on slabs. Would have caught more had I not caught my bowie marker so many times. Average hybrid is around 3-5lbs with maybe one 7 per trip only one undersized caught yesterday(right at 18inches). I have yet to see any true nines on digital scales. Will post photo and the shoe in the photo is a 12.

We have released many fish too. That side of the lake has been the only place I've been able to fish in the recant winds. I know I could move down some, but it's hard to leave biting fish. As for the boat show, I can say that most are slabing and not exactly wearing them out??? But, when they see two of the three rods in a boat buckle over they tend to come closer and then another... Pie, that is the skinniest 21" Hybrid I've seen, maybe he has more striper than white in em'???? lol. I bet if you drop live shad down wherever you fishing it will produce some big fish. But' I'm sure you already know that. Say hi next time out.
Cheers,
anton

Wish I could have come out there and helped you guys with these fish -- had to help my neighbor locate their 13 year old that decided to run off..kids...

You are right about repeated pressure to an area = it moves the fish off. Might make it out Thursday, but headed to Texoma EARLY Friday a.m. = I hear it is hero season up there smile smile

Was a very skinny hybrid and just one of the many. I had tons of gizzard shad in my livewell, maybe 30 or 40. There was just no need for shad other than to keep my son occupied. When fishing the area that you are fishing, I too do much better with shad but the concentration of fish where I am at is very very thick and you are lucky to get a slab to the bottom. I prefer not to use shad and will not be getting them anytime soon unless the slab bite dies. When using shad, they get hit the minute I put them down and I end up running from the trolling motor to the back of the boat to pick up the rod. Pointless, especially when I can sit up front, relax and catch fish after fish without rebaiting. I have the lake down to a T. Have been out every day over the last month and have now nailed. The fish have been biting all day long, its just a matter of location.

We'll give it another try Friday. Guess I'll try some shad. We marked good fish last time out, but they weren't falling for the artificials. May try to plant a tracking device on PiePuncher's rig before then and try out his spot with artificials. If anyone will be out Friday morning, give me a shout.

I was out there yesterday, and they were letting people fish on the outside of the fishing barge (right were everyone was trying to load and unload). Very bad spot, and they would get mad when you pulled up to pick up your passengers. Other than that, looks very nice out there.
