LOL...yeah. So Primo, when you going? I may be "open" for another evening with ya.

If not, I may just hit the slips this evening, or Tuesday morning.

Oh yeah, while I got you guys on here, DJF told me on the phone today he had another issue with a "drunk" individual meandering on our slips late yesterday evening, while he and his 5-yr old daughter were there fishing.

I think it's time to do our thing and board up, chicken wire, and shade those slips. Maybe it was just a holiday thing, but I know Josh and Gary don't want intoxicated people meandering around on their slips at night.

I know that was one of his(Josh's) worries from experiences in the past when we organized this deal last Christmas.

Just a thought. Holiday is about over, so things should be back to normal.

Watched a video today and it really surprised me. It was about fines fishing for crappie and the guys were fishing 8' of water in dead summer and water temp at 85. They were using 1/32 jig heads tipped with a minnow. They would let it down by every stump around and when they got a small tick they stopped and waited. Soon it would either get heavy, or light or the line would move to the side some and then they would lift up and snag the crappie.

The guy said they were not eating just trying to move it away from their tree.

Never would have thought in the mid summer you could catch crappie that shallow, but they did.

Interesting anyway.

I have been fishing water from 21'-30' and catching them down about 12' or so on jigs. Have not spent much time fishing lately, but went out of about an hour two times this week and caught a few in the morning. I didn't get out early enough because I don't stay out after it gets hot.

Just need to find those brush piles, Primo south of the 3002 bridges and get a GPS and mark em'. Fish mornings or evenings before dark once you find the piles and your numbers will go up.

Maybe I'll purchase a Martin's Map of the lake which has pretty good GPS coords of piles from things I've heard.

One thing about RR though, is with it's orientation, it does tend to get a good chop on the main lake with SSE winds or NNW winds, so if that's the forecast, better to go up in the east arm past Wolf Island and Jordan ramp/Isle of Du Bois and fish the trees or go up to Buck Creek in those situations.

I hear ya my friend. RR is super once you get familiar with and the crappie pattern year-round. You wanna go out with Cliff when you get back from Cali, lemme' know. Either him or Paul O. know that lake quite well (been with Cliff a few times and know he does very well).

Afterwards, just a matter of marking the piles and again, knowing the pattern. After that, you can literally get limits most times during the warm season.

Have a safe trip!

Walt...give me a holler sometime. I'll PM you. I fish jigs all the time at the slips, and have off boats on brushpiles, docks, and trees. You need at least an 8'-10' rod for good brushpile, vertical jigging. It's not too hard, but takes time to get used to.
