Ok Primo, sounds good.

May or may not see you, as my buddy and I are likely coming out by midday or early afternoon, after I drive my butt all the way to Dallas to have this surgeon figure out why head is throbbing like a drum, though the surgery was in my throat much further down.

My voice isn't as clear (at least to me) at this stage in the game either, so I'm pressure this issue with him Friday A.M.

Hey, it gets me out of work man.

It as S L O W today around midday with the wind blowing like a damn hurricane.

Oh yeah, I'm not going to even bother going to that Indian Creek minnow store anymore, because noone is ever around it seems and it just wastes my time.

I'm going to the Trading Post to buy minners tomorrow, Primo, and will restock your bucket with whatever ones we don't use, since I "borrowed" a few of yours the last few times out.

I hope it's better Friday A.M, when me and my old bud and his dad hit the slips. Cant' be any worse than today was.

My bud bailed because of the wind, so guess I'll try to get out there a few hours this evening Primo if I can.

Wish this wind would settle down for a day or two, but with this slow system to our N, its the way it is.

Big Cat,

Did you go to Indian Creek or Creek Harbor for minnow? What time did you go? The guy at Creek Harbor is supposed to be there from 7-7. He is not always in the store and may be on property mowing or picking up trash, but he is supposed to be there. Let me know. Thanks.

Josh,

I went west on "Indian Creek Rd" I believe, just North of the creek bridge there on 1220? There's a sign there by the road (1220) that says "open". When you go west, the road curves back south a bit next a few trailer homes, then veers back west toward the lake by a bunch of these small cabins and such.

I bought some from the guy once when my father-in-law was here, but all the other times (well within the 7-7 time range you mention) there was noone there. Am I going to the right place?

These cabins and little minnow shop are small, wooden-lookin' deals. Just wonderin'. I did see a guy more toward the park/lake riding on a CubCadet riding mower, but wasn't sure If I should bother him or not.

That is the place and that is him on the mower. He also does the mowing and clean up not just the bait shop. Just wave at him and he will get you whatever you need. Don't feel bad about bothering him. And the mobile home right at the entrance is his. If you are there between 7-7 feel free to knock on the door. Sometimes he walks over to make a sandwich and get a drink. He is supposed to be watching for people, but if he misses seeing you you can knock. Thanks

Josh,

Thanks and this is good to know. I'd rather actually give him the business, as one lady at the Trading Post I wouldn't call the friendliest gal in the world. I feel like i'm "putting her out" anytime I go in there.

I'll be out with my old friend Craig from H.S...as when I told him I was going out to hang with Primo later this afternoon/early evening and go relax, but not to expect much for fishing, he seemed ready to get out of his house and relax.

I also told him we could eat at the restaurant if he wanted too.

We'll try to stop at Indian Creek and pick up some minners for the slips.

Good luck tonight. I may see you out there.

It is Creek Harbor by the way. Indian Creek is the bar right there at the bridge.

Ok, thanks Josh. I saw Gary (I think that's who it is that's your father-in-law?) out there and we had some nice chats. It got hopping an hour or two after we got there (around 7 PM) and my friend and I had a good time and caught a few keepers.

I had one rod/reel yanked into the depths in the first slip and
then lost a huge bass by the wall when I was chatting with Gary. Game Wardens were there too handing out tickets to jet skiers not abiding to the "no-wake" signs when coming through the jettys. Funny stuff.

We did find the guy (forgot his name again) at the minnow shop and he was very nice and showed us the inside of the cabins.

Primo, where were you bud? Thought you were coming out at 7 PM?

Anyway, we got 4 dozen minnows and only used about 2 dozen, so I restocked your yellow minner bucket in the first slip.

That being said though and all the traffic on the slip, I'd recommend moving it to one of the slips on the north side near a boat to keep it hidden until the holiday weekend is over. I almost did it myself, as it's very visible to strangers.

Sorry I missed you again.

BigCat,

Glad to hear you caught a few. Man you're h*ll on losing rod-n-reels this year! No offense but don't ever ask to use one of mine. rolfmao

Do you know the operating hours for the minner place? I often think of heading out there in the evenings, but don't know where to get minnows.

Thanks.

Primo,

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet rig! Now you, Stacy, and Larry all have boats, so guess I won't be seeing you guys much. My turn next I guess!

Stacy, yep, just having a cold one, with an old friend who lives in Bedford near you and who I grew up with, and was just jigging about 5 feet away from this combo (which I bought from the old U.S Sports Sales on HWY 10 back in 1985 when I was a senior at Bell). Way it goes and went to Cabelas with the kids today and bought me a nice set-up for around $40.00, that will be my new dock-shooter, while the one I bought from Academy about a month back will now become my other minner rod/reel set up. LOL...oh well, huh?

As for the operating hours of the minner place on Indian Creek road (which is N of Indian Creek and the slips themselves around a mile or so), see Josh's post above. I forgot his name, but he's super nice and sometimes you just have to seek him out, as he told me the minner shop has no A/C, so he stays in his trailer or he's usually out n about on the property...just gotta look for him. His hours are 7a-7p, and it's $2 for 13 minners.

Primo,

Oh yeah, but taking Laura out for dinner for her birthday this evening with the kids, then watching a movie to end her day on a nice note. So this evening is OUT unfortunately, but this is her day...so not going fishing today.

Outside of my daughter having her belated Bday party tomorrow at NE Mall at 1 pm for a few hours, I should be free most anytime Sun, Mon, and maybe Tues for a gathering at the slips for some fishing or work.

Let me know if any of you guys are going this evening, or Memorial Day (especially early morning due to the crowds). I may head out for a few hours of relaxation after the finally for all these May birthdays is over at NE Mall this afternoon.

Whew, old dad/hubby here really gets it full bore in the month of May (anniversary, Mother's Day, 3 bdays).

I'm ready for June to start! (Father's Day...he he he)

I kindly explained to them that I don't own boat, worked all day, and had made the drive to fish the slips, but the one's parked in the slips didn't budge.

However, I did meet JP Gleason (TFF admin guy) and he was really cool and understood, as did many of the other bass guys who weren't parked in our slips. Not moaning or complaining, but do think it's up to us now to keep boats from staging or parking in the slips we pay for. Once we do that, it'll be a great place to come anytime of the week.

So with that said, when should we start our project of both shading and blocking off those 3 slips to boats? Thinking about bringing an old buddy of mine out sometime on Friday.

Geez guys, quit yer yakking and just block up the slips. It's like a soap opera with you. Chains just are not that $, a thick rope would work as well to keep boats out. Just get it done and shut up.
