Here's the scoop on October 24th:

Reservations are made at Thunderbird Lodge and Resort for Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th.
I have a large cabin reserved that holds up to 25 people. There are 13 beds, two bathrooms, and a large kitchen, dining, and living area. The beds will be on a first come first serve basis, floor space with air mattresses or cots (your own that is) are available for everyone else up to 25 people. If we have more than 25 people, no problem...we can reserve another cabin of various sizes on an as needed basis. We will just have to have an idea of aproximately how many within the next 4 to 6 weeks.

If we fill the cabin with 25 people, the total cost per person will be $23.00 a night. If less the price will go up some.

My group from the Temple area will provide a chili dinner for everyone Friday night, a fish fry Saturday night, and a big breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning. All you will need is your snacks, your jugs, and a boat if you have one. I am sure there will be plenty of boats there to fish in case you don't have one. What a deal! You don't want to miss it!

The resort has a boat dock and a fish cleaning area. The boat dock rental is $10 per day per boat. You can check it on line at www.touringtexas.com/tbird

Post on this thread if you plan on coming so I can count you in. Remember, the beds are available on a first come first serve basis, so don't drag you tails! Someone can post on another site and invite everyone that would like to come. We don't mind feeding an army! The more the merrier!

That sounds like it could be a blast. I always fish up river about 14 miles from Thunderbird. The Lake can get pretty rough, but if you know what your doing someone could catch a whopper.

Why October(out of curiousity)?
