Called Tawakoni State Park today and gave them my park pass number in order to get the gate code so I could launch early tomorrow. I have done this many times before. They refused to give the gate code out over the phone - said I could drop by today and get it in person. Explained I wasn't coming until tomorrow and wanted to be on the water by 5 and the gate didn't open until 7. Explained we've paid the $75 several years in a row for the park pass just for reasons like this. They still refused. Stupid government employee.

So... if anybody has the current gate code would you please PM me.

The new park Ranger there said she was the new sheriff in town and she will do anything she can to prove it. I think you will see a lot of tournament trails abandon this lake next year because of problems like the one you mentioned.

I feel your pain. Yet in similar instances when I've called Purtis Creek SP they give me the code - no problem. I think they like fishermen there.

I know that the Northeast Texas BASS Federation feels this way.

Gordon stated at the last Media tournament that they would not be back.

You have to understand that the new "sheriff" is a self stated environmentalist, and more than likely despises the act of fishing. She is the new breed of park ranger; look at it, but do not use it. She also dislikes the noise boaters generate before 7am.

We need to contact Austin and let her bosses know how she has run down this park.

Thats sad about not fishing Twakoni next year. That lake has been on fire. Do understand the reasons.

I am going to forward this "rant" to Donna's boss, so she is aware of the situation. All of you need to feel welcomed at our parks. We have nice fascilities at Tawakoni and it cost the taxpayers quite a few dollars. I'll forward this so she is at least aware that there is a problem.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I explained that I've got a pass and it has not been a problem getting the code in the past. I was told it is against the rules to give it out over the phone.

So I launched at Holiday. One of the reasons I bought the pass is to not have to pay launch fees - guess I'll have to skip the pass next year.

It is a shame that such a nice park has been built and they let an absolute, clueless idiot run it!!! She has run off numerous tournament trails this year and they should not allow it!! State Parks are for recreation as well as revenue!! She apparently did not get that memo and it is a shame. She has already run off CABA, BassChamps, and Media Bass. What is next? All the revenue that those trails bring in is gone now!! I hope she is happy and stands tall on her "there is a new sheriff in town" attitude.

I have called the state about her several times and they always tell me that they will have a supervisor contact me.....I am still waiting for any call.

The business owners in Wills Point are fairly upset as well. I asked a couple of them what having the tournaments go elsewhere would mean and they basically said that the tournaments are what get them into the black each year.

I sent her boss a link to this discussion but have not heard anything back yet. With this being Memorial Day weekend she may be out visiting parks. If anyone needs to know Donna's boss's name or contact information, let me know via PM.

I would like the info. She has refused to give me a receipt several times while staying over with friend that had a rental site,she took the money then gave me a note sticky

My buddy and I did not renew our passes this year due to no code over the phone. I can understand not wanting traffic in and out all night but her attitude is unacceptable. If someone will pm me who to contact I will be happy to e-mail or write a letter.
