tagging drop lines?

I run drop lines with 2 to 3 hooks do they need to be tagged and if so where can I buy tags that are weather resistant?...Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure that all set lines have to be tagged in Texas. As for getting tags you can just make your own and have them laminated.

They DO NOT have to be tagged. Only trotlines and jug lines. I ahve confirmed this time and time again with game wardens here in Brazos and Freestone counties. As long as the line has 5 or fewer hooks and is not attached to a float it does not have to have a tag.

Thanks for the info. That's good to know. I don't run droplines here but I thought they had to be tagged.

from the TPWD website ... looks like a dropline would considered a throwline
Throwline: For use in FRESH WATER only. A fishing line with five or less hooks and with one end attached to a permanent fixture. Components of a throwline may also include swivels, snaps, rubber and rigid support structures.
* May be used to take NONGAME fish, channel catfish, blue catfish and flathead catfish only.
