Hey, wasn't sure exactly where to post this. Move if its not in the right place.

I'm 16 and looking into buying a Boat. Probably about a 16 foot John Boat with a 25HP engine..

I know if the boats under 14 feet and 10 horse I don't have to have the coarse..

But I am wanting to know specifics of what I need to accomplish what I want. I live in Fort Worth.

Where do I take the coarse, must I have it, and how much is it?

That is the link to the TPWD boater education site.

It isn't required. But I STRONGLY recommend taking it. I didn't think I needed to take it, but I went into it with an open mind and picked up a lot of valuable information.

Look at frequently asked questions under boating safety. It will answer alot of your questions. If your high school has a ag./science program they might offer hunter/boater ed.

I think it was $27. Not a high price for information that could possibly save your life.

Well, just think of it as required. Idk if it is or not. But please, take the course.

It's only required if you want to operate the boat yourself without an adult on board.

I did it online and was able to get a discount on my boat insurance. Don't remember how much it cost me, but do know it wasn't much.

I have one question for you.

Do you know what a diver's flag looks like ?

If not. Please take the course.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

LOL.
notice the difference between "without an adult", as opposed to "without another adult."

If you are 30, the law counts you as an adult, regardless of whether you act like it. wink Otherwise I could never fish alone.
