I havn't had just a whole ton of time when i've been in town but the few times I've gone to Hubbard creek after work I have had great luck. Today I went with a coworker to a dock out on a island and had a killer time, when we got there I started setting things up and making my "funky punch" & baiting up. I have landed 2 10+ lbers with this same guy so he really wants to catch a carp & just see a buff, soooo I got his ragidy a$$ shakspeare tiger all set up with a bolt rig and some green maze. We get him all casted out and ready to go then I casted the 1st of my 2 lines out get it set up and move on to the next. I cast the 2nd line out and go to set the rod down and I notice there is a pull on my rod? I really didn't think much about since I had just casted and had not even set the rod down yet, so I click the baitrunner on and ZINNNGGGGGGG that mofo is screamin and something is off to the races. I start realing it in to see that I have caught a sand bass on the hair with sweet corn, thats a 1st for me. lol I toss him back after I took some picks and I'm rebaiting that hair whem Hammy's shakspeare tiger get a hook up, he grabs it and starts playing the fish, that went on for about 3 mins till that shakspeare made some god awfull grinding noise then it just started free spooling line out till his 1st carp/buff won the battle and broke him off and trashed that reel. I landed a 16.14, 14.9 & 12.10 & got hung & lost 2 other fish.
all in all I had a great night.. I'm now looking to get something over 20 lbs

Lol nice! With a 16lber in there, I'm sure there are some 20's as well!
