has anyone tried the pond in the Lake parks neighborhood?
i cant linky a arial view of the location, but google maps (val verde, grand prairie tx) it is the area in between Brazoria Dr and Maverick Dr and the surrounding streets.

there is a sign and this is what i remember from it which is pretty much everything

Lakes Park (with logo)
1. no motorized vehicals or boats allowed
2. no swimming
3. keep pets on leash
4. pick up trash
5. water is irrigated from joe pool
6. fishing at your own risk

park hours 6a.m. - 10p.m.

i spoke to one of the residents, he wasnt very familiar with fish species but he did notice some people catching some big catfish from it. it has 2 water fountains in the middle on both ends, i fished it no structure inside that i could reach i saw a small bass swim up, threw in a 12in crappie i caught today from lake arlington...it seems like nothing but sand banks in the pond

im not a resident from that neighborhood directly but im from lake parks west an neighborhood across from it...so i guess its okay and it does not specify for residents only

Kevin

Is that off great southwest as well.if so I call that one Beazer pond!
Have caught alot of channel cat(8lb-son caught),
some large bass(6lb),crappie(14") and a few carp(5lb).

I would rather have a bad day fishing, than a good day at the office!

I actually live right on that pond. It actually has 3 fountains in it and is about a mile and a half around it. When they stocked the lake around 04' they did put some fingerlings in it. I dont think there are any BIG fish in there. Its too new. I know a certain Joe Pooler who has realeased a few fish in there though.

i live close as well when first saw this i looked and found the pond have not caught any thing to brag about but a great place to take a kid. tried fishing on bottom with live worms. dont use two poles you will be busy. took wife (fish like kid)she caught 15 in an hour and this was at 5:00PM. i did not catch much since i was the worm installer and she would not touch the fish. funny when we were younger she did do her own thing. she said her nails were to long. i do think some joe poolers are going to relocate some bigger fish.

I tried today and didn't catch anything, I think it was too hot. I went down where the brush was and tried in between fountains. I just got 1 feisty little perch.
