Speaking of never seeing someone before it is too late, we had this clown in a Bass Cat come out of a cove at full throttle come within 25 feet of my kids and I a few days ago. I loved the expression on his face when he saw us, he was so close I read the TX numbers off his boat and snapped a photo of the clown. I turned them into the Haltom City office today. Rollers were so bad I had water come in the boat.

Two weeks ago while at Kate's Point on Ray Bob we had the same thing happen almost (anyone of three boats in our group) could have gotten got T-boned by a 20 foot Champion.

Not just rec boaters if you ask me.

I had to swim after my boat yesterday after I let it drift off while I was backing the trailer to the ramp. I am sometimes a boat ramp hero myself...I had my 4 kids with me who said it was awesome!!! I did not think it was awesome. The people waiting to load up did not think it was awesome. The people on the shore having the party did think it was awesome. Its a split vote...2 awesomes and two not awesomes... Opps

i have no problem with people skiing or wake boarding they have that right but when they using one of those wake board boats to pull someone 15 yrds off the bank the entire length where you are fishing that is just disrespect those boats live up to there name they throw some monster wakes

I saw two firsts on Ray Hubbard yesterday. Saw a smallish wakeboard boat had no less than 15 people on board (I counted!), all drinking, carrying on, and blasting gangsta rap so loud it made *my* ears hurt from 100 yards off. My son, who's 8, even said "Dad, that boat is about to sink with all those people on board. It had like 6" of freeboard, max.

Second thing was even better/crazier. Another wakeboard boat was picking up a person from out of the water, the person was just starting to boost himself out of the water onto the swim platform when the driver (with drink in hand, of course) gunned it full throttle. The guy getting onto the boat was hanging on for dear life and managed to barely pull himself on board the boat. The driver never slowed down. In 25 plus years of boating, I never saw either of those stunts before Sunday.

The shame is that those kind of folks give all boaters a bad name, raising insurance rates & suspicion from law enforcement on all of us. I just wonder how these idiots get the controls of these $50-100K boats?! I wouldn't trust them to mow my lawn so it's a wonder who employs these people so well they can afford these boats.

You should have called the law on the 2 ladies. I'm assuming they were going to load the boat on a trailer and drive? Not good.

East Texas has their share of idiots. I know because I seen my share of them where I live on Cedar Creek. It's getting worse as the years go by. I rarely go out on the weekends due to the increase in stupidity.

This coming Memorial Day weekend is the beginning of SBS (Stupid Boater Season). Be careful out there!

Going to be a blast at the ramps this weekend, take your camera. If you plan on fishing I would be out of the water by noon if not before.

Never fish Grapevine on Saturday's or Sunday's after Tax Day (April 15th for those of you who do not file)!

They were passengers in the boat, and neither of them were getting behind the wheel. They were kind of hanging out while a guy loaded the boat they climbed out of. Believe me, I would have done something if they had gotten behind the wheel because they could barely stand up!

I posted this one a while back. My wife and I still talk about it whenever we go to Texoma even though it was probably 15 - 20 years ago.

We were coming back to camp at Preston Bend from fishing about 20 - 30 minutes after sunset and were about 1/2 mile from Little Mineral. My wife says look out, there is something in the water. I slow down and there is a guy bobbing around with a life jacket on. We stop and ask if he needs a ride and he says no my freinds just went to get some gas. I said where and he says Little Mineral. I drive off thinking about how hard it is going to be to find this guy in about 15 more minutes when it is darker. I suggested that he might want to hold his ski in the air.

Like they said, you can't fix stupid.
