Is it legal to use bream (perch, sunfish, etc.) for bait, either whole or as cut bait?

Bream is considered a baitfish, since there aren't any "daily limits." They are the best kept secret in fishing. Fun to catch, great to eat, and a fun live bait! I hook them with a circle or a Kahle hook through the lower part of the back by the tail (be sure and miss the spinal nerve, and they will last forever! Rig them under a bobber of your choice and set out your line. I've hooked 5-6 pound stripers and decently sized cats. Hope this helps! Steven

Thanks for the info! We are heading for a tank with worms and cane poles to catch a bucket of bream and then to Lake Texoma to fish for whatever will hit!

I've caught Cats up to 12lbs on em and bass up to 9.5lbs! I use a large circle hook and a large bobber. No weight allows the fish to swim freely. There is no doubt when that thing goes under you have a nice fish!

Only way to go if setting trot lines. Also good way to catch monsters if you have the patience on rod and reel. Hang on hold tight when you get that bite!!

It better be, I've been doing that for over 12 years.
