Could someone please tell me a good place to go fishing on lake lewisville without a boat. We already tried the barge on lewisville but had no luck. We would like to find a place that is open to the public at all times. Every place we find is a city or state park that closes at 10:00.
I would really appreciate any information anyone can offer.
Than you

Lake Park off of Justin Rd. There's a fee for entering the park or else you can buy an annual pass for $25.00. I live 5 minutes away from this park and so I bought the annual pass. It's a beautiful and huge park. I usually bank fish from the points during the summer when it's sizzling hot and catch hybrid bass and a lot of sand bass. There's plenty of bait to cast for. This park closes at around 9 or 10 but you can stay until you're done. There are spikes on the exit side which only allow you to leave but not return.

It's $25 if you are a Lewisville Resident, $50 for non-resident and $10 a day per car.

The park closes BUT during the summer they do make patrols in the park looking for people and the Rangers/GW's will ask them to leave.

Tower Bay is 24/7

Copperas Park is 24/7 if you have a pass, the pass will go down to $25 for non residents in June.

Arrowhead Park is open but I have been asked by cops to move, mostly in the winter.

I usually fish with minnows, worms, shad, and liver. I prefer to fish for catfish, crappie, perch, and sunfish.

Wanted to bump this to get newer information. wink

I'm looking for a spot to bank fish from that allows overnight fishing. I don't mind fees, just want a place to set up some rods and fish for everything that swims. Thx.

There's a few spots that you can fish all night with no problem. The old dam is probably the most popular, if you don't mind walking a little bit. The Shady Shores boat ramp area is another pretty good spot. Easy to catch bait there and lots of space to fish.

Tower bay is a third choice. Park by the boat houses. Fish around the boat houses for channels and bass, or walk to the park and fish by the marina slips. Water is shallow to the right of the boat ramp, and deep to the left as far as you can cast.

Get on Mill Street as if you were going to the barge, only don't turn down the barge road. Go straight about another half-mile until Mill Street dead ends in a hard left turn. Good night fishing out there for channels. The place is chummed regularly. Use punch bait and you should catch some nice channels.
