Looking to install some rod holders on my boat. Been looking at the Atwoods, Berkley's, Bass Pro, and the Action Outdoor rod holders. Anybody have experience with these? I'll be using 'em for cattin' and crappie. I like the price on the Action Outdoor ones, but was afraid they might be of the same quality as the price might lead me to believe. I don't really like any of the "wire" style ones (Bee Ready's, Driftmasters, etc.). If you know of others that are good, let me know. I do know they need to have an available side mount or rail adapter.
No fish is too good for the grease.

I have 8 of the flush mount type from bass pro and have not had any problems as of yet with them. They come with the side rail mount. But I was unable to use the side rail mounts on my boat so I went with the flush mounts. All I fish for is cats now so don't know about the crappie fishing with them.

I use the RAM rod holder with the deck mount. I like the way the rod comes out of these and they are made to last forever. Just don't drop it in the lake. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...=0001449013833a

I have the little triangle bases 3 on each side of the boat and just move the rod holders to the side of the boat I am fishing. They also have a dual rod holder that gives the option of keeping the rot tip high or low to the water....

If I recall right the Bass Pro rod holders comes with side mounts for round rails. You would just have to check into it is all.All of my rails are square and one side of all the rails has upolstery on them, so I had to find other places to put rod holders. So I ended up having to go to the flush mounts.

I have those action-outdoor rod holders, they work fine - not as slick as the pricier ones but very utilitarian. Course I don't use 'em often, so I can't vouch for durability. But they don't have a "cheap" or "flimsy" feel to 'em.
