I'm looking to get on some of these huge crappies that ya'll have down here. I, like the gent in the south dakota thread, am used to crappie in the 8-10 inch range and would love to get on some around here. I'm a bank fisherman so no fun in the middle of the lake for me.
Also, what works best to catch these guys? any help is greatly appreciated!

If you would have asked about a month ago, I would have told you to go to Stillhouse near Harker Heights and fish near the bridge. That lake was high all last year and there were some nice slabs coming out of there due to the lack of fishing pressure last year. For the most part, the bank run is over with I think. You could still probably find some 1s and 2s though.

Go check out the fox pier at Granger lake.(Just past Taylor out 79 from Austin) You can use minnows or jigs out there but honestly I think you'll do better with jigs and have more fun as well...good luck.
