Buy USED, if you look and are willing to make a drive to pick it up you will come across a good deal. Also, if you start out upside in your boat and in 2-3 years you decide that its not exactly what you want anymore your are stuck like chuck. Do your homework and ask to ride in a few different brands until you find what you like.

I also would look into a great used Champion or even a Triton for that price point. Pick up a copy of boat trader or look online for good deals on used deals. They're out there and you can find a great deal right now for a used boat. Just saw one here for a great used Bullet in the mid 30's..

one word REASEARCH.... you do not want someone elses problems. go to local repair shops (fiberglass, dealers and motor shops) ask a lot of questions the biggest factor is what can you afford?

Look at the specials on basscat.com. They're running a "Spring Fling" special on a bunch of thier models and some ar within your price range. I don't thing any reasonable person would say you would be dissappointed with owning a BCB.

I'm a die hard BassCat man. With that said, I'm alittle jealous of the Nitro Bonus Cash that is offered.
If you want to tourney fish, check your local trails and see what kind of deals you can get on Boat sponsor money.
There were some guys early this season that had top finishes on a couple of trails were they finished 6th and 1lth I believe, and being the top placing nitro owners, made more then the first place pay out.
Pretty good bonus program out there with alot of boat brands.

In the last 14 years I have owned a Triton TR21, Skeeter SX190, Ranger 521VX, and 3 Nitros (190SF, 929, Z-9).
The Nitro 190SF was absolutely the worst boat I have owned, it completely fell apart. Nitro is still trying to recover from the quality issues with the early models.
The Nitro 929 was won in a tournament and that was the only reason that I owned a second Nitro.
The 929 is hands down the BEST BOAT FOR THE MONEY. Comparing to the Triton, Ranger, and Skeeter, there are not any significant difference in quality. The 929 and Z-9 handle rough water far better than any of the others.
The Z-9 has been best boat of all of them but you are also paying for that level of perfomance.
If you are fishing tournaments the Tracker incentive program is unmatched.
