Is Lewisville Officially the most dangerous lake in Texas, or does it just seem that way? From the picture it looks like they were hauling accross the water and didn't even see the sand bar.

yea i also think that they were crossing the lake at high speeds and didnt see the small body of land, but how could this have been prevented ?
personally, i think they should put up signs for shallow waters !

I was out there from 10-3 and really seen nothing by sneaky petes. I also don't reconize the area. This must have happened on the 121 side of the lake and not by Sneaky Petes. Sad day thats for sure.

With our low lake levels, folks are just asking for trouble by running at high speeds, particularly on Lewisville.

I think it was over adjacent to the East Hill Park ramp where the sandbar jets out toward the dam. It is very sad that this happened. It could have been prevented. Obviously they were not familiar with the lake, most everyone that boats or fishes Lewisville know how shallow it is through there, you must stay left. Just last week we were wondering why it cannot be marked by lights or something? I guess then someone would have to PAY for it. Are WE allowed to mark anything on the shores on CORP property? Last time we marked a dangerous stump, our marker was removed the following day. The Ranger said it was littering! A 10.00 solar panel and a light that flashes cannot be that hard to maintain. Maybe they will do something now, it is horrible that lives have to be lost to make authorities react.

This type of news is very sad. I think most lakes in Texas are low right now and unless you know the lakes real well, the high speeds are not the way to go. I send my prayers to families and only wish that it had never happened. This should be another wake up call for us all to pay close attention to where we are on the lake. If you do not know the lake, please take it slow and be cautious.

Lake death swallows up a couple more victims. GUys, this is how Lewisville has always been. Low water, low light, and high speed equals trouble. Becareful out there!

That's more of an island now than a sand bar. He had to have been hauling some serious arse to flip his boat over upside down like that...
