Me and a couple of buddies spent the better part of last month's weekends killing Crappie in the coves of the Leon River above Belton Lake. Our last couple of trips have been terrible. Are they off the spawn now? We mainly went with minnows on a bobber and fished tight around cover. Anyone know what is up with fish and have some techniques that are working now?

Welcome aboard Wish.

I'd only be guessing about Belton because I've only been on it once, and that was about 30 years ago, but I think the spawn is done around here. I'd start looking for structure in about 5-15 feet of water or thereabouts. They should be headed that way.

Thanks. I'm guessing the standard methods still apply?

contrary to what out wives think , most of us do not
spend all day on the computer. smile sometimes it takes
more than 80 minutes to get answers. I am guessing what you
do not want to hear is that you are going to have to
wait untill next spring.
Having a boat doesn't guarantee fish , however, sometimes
the 3@$@$@ things just won't bite. smile

good luck

Haha....I was just kidding anyway. I don't have a boat but between two of my buddies, there are three.
