Hi,

I have tried the Somerville marena for Crappie, which is okay. I have a kayak now and can access more places.

Where on Somerville is good for Crappie? Aren't they spawning in shallow water in May?

What about Gibbons Creek? Any other thoughts on where to get some Crappie near College Station?

When I attended A&M in the early 90s, I did my best at the marina and in those coves in and around Somerville on the west side of the lake.

Good luck and Gig 'EM.

Another good option is Limestone. It's a little farther north, but a great crappie lake.

Somerville, Gibbons, Conroe and Limestone are all within an hour and half of College Station and half decent crappie fishing

I have a Somerville map...

The marena is on the Southeast side. I guess I can just pick out any alcoves on the West side of the lake and look for some stumps or trees in the water?

Lake Limestone... that sounds interesting. I had not though of that one. I have never been there. Anyone have maps of it?

My bad, yes, SE or E side, not W side. I'm tired, I'll give it up.
