Anyone else sick of catching carp in their cast nets? It's starting to piss me off. I catch 20 times the carp as I do actual bait. And those freaking stinking POS fish have the top fin and bottom fin get stuck in the net.
I wish we could get rid of those nasty stinking fish.

They do make a good cut bait if you run jug lines.

They do make a good cut bait if you run jug lines. Agreed. We use alot of cut carp up here in Nebraska.

Depending on the size, I've used them live for yellow cat. With some good results!!

I was reading a research article from a university that I can't remeber at the moment...and cut carp outfished anything else they tried (for channels). I've tried though and no bueno. It does feel good though cuttin those things up.

back around 1980 & for prolly 6-7 years they had a yearly rough fish tourney at stamford lake ... carp & buffalo were 99% of the take ... the fishing started saturday morning & was allowed non-stop thru sunday afternoon ... the winner usually weighed in over 400# (mostly carp) ... they had a dump truck at the weigh in sight & folks could come as often as they liked to weigh in & each one was tallied up at the end to find out the winners ... all the fish were put in the dump truck as they were weighed in ... no way did they even come close to wiping out the carp but it did make a difference ... hardly ever caught one while catfishing after a few years of this i never heard why they stopped but i figure some bleedin' heart group prolly got it shut down ... was a lot of fun though & first place usually fetched around 1000 bux & some lucky farmer got a huge load of fertilizer
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

Heh, had the same problem on Lewisville! I don't really mind though, in fact, I thought it was kinda amusing! Goofy carp and buffs must have been cashing shad!
