My son and I took the new boat out on Ray Hubbard yesterday... the winds were UP and the waves were big. We hit it at about 7:00am and fished until about 9:00 when we decided we had better get back for Mothers Day stuff. No birds working, just massive waves and winds. Caught two dinks by the boat ramp when putting up for the day.

I guess I've become too reliant on using the birds to find the fish. I've heard people talk about "Peanut" at Ray Hubbard, which I assume to be a hump somewhere, though I don't know where it is. Anyone care to divulge some tribal knowledge on finding them at RH?

Rooster, I'm not a tribesman, but I'll try and help you you out a bit here. The peanut is about half way down the east side of the power plant jettie. On a weekend, just look for a large group of boats and more than likely it will be the peanut thumb If you see another large group of boats away from the power plant jetty, than that is probably RP, which is on the east side of Roberston Park. Any other "Boat Shows" are subject to change and do not directly imply the exact location of specific areas, such as, but not limited to, the Turtle, The Iron Horse, The Pits, The Airplane, The Yoggie, The Boo Boo, the FP, the MH, The GP, The LR, The Point, RBC, to name a few. I don't know the locations of these areas, but I have heard from others that they are good places to fish. Good luck welcome

Wow. I've got a lot to learn about this lake...!!

Thanks JV, I'll try those spots. I'll check my 522c maps, but I doubt they'll have these common names on them. Maybe the paper ones will though.
