Brother "B" called today, bright an early at noon getting ready to take the boat out. I checked my schedule and wow,.....no plans..He pulls up to the front yard and off we went. The wind was pushing strong, so I had no yakking plans.
We arrived at "5 fingers" in less than two minutes from the canal. Slicks where popping up everywhere, and the sweet smell of watermelon permeated the air. Oh this is going to be good.
Right off the bat, bam, bam, bam, all keepers. Not more than 30 minutes into the fish, boats start showing up. One boat saw brother "B" catch 2 fish as they where passing, and pulled in right behind us. We had a double hookup going on and another boat that was zipping by came to a stop, turned around, and anchored just behind the first boat. By then, we had 19 fish in the box, and all the choas shut down the bite big time. After 20 minutes of no keepers, we thought about heading in, and going to Tackle Town in Rockport. BUT, we just cant leave with one fish less than a two limit day. So off we went to the "sailboat" hole to catch one more keeper. Nothing for 15 more minutes. It was looking grim and time was running out, and Boom, Brother "B" lands a 17" trout.
20 fish, in less than 2 hours.
As soon as we arrived at the canal, Ol' Gerty showed up for some trout ribs.

Sorry about all the bird pics, but Gerty is a cool bird, and a friend of the family.

One trout was well over 25" that brother "B" caught. It was hooked in the gills and boxed due to bleeding. Not our normal "over 25, stay alive" motto, But oh well.
one more pic.

That is a sweet little reel for some good light work.
Untill next time....um tomorrow that is....
