I know there is a creek that runs under Camp Wisdom close to Carrier Pkwy. I passed by this area for the first time over the weekend and only saw one person fishing under this bridge on the creek. Does anyone know of this is a good area and if the sandies or crappie are holding in this area?

Much appreciated..If so I plan on heading out there on Thursday around 1 or 2 and fishing with minnows....any recommended depth I should try? I am not a great fisherman but I will report back on my success.

Oh yeah also curious if there might be any catfish in this area? I has some year old milo sitting at the house that I am anxious to throw out.

man the creek is it last year we caught crappie a plenty and the cats work best fished with frozen chicken liver on a drift rig.last week we caught a few crappies around the spillway but our car got broken into so that place i would not fish but the creek is still good at least you will still be able to see your car from the creek.i normally take three rods two for minnows one for cats and every once and a while i'll even throw some jigs.the best color jig out there is either red with a white tail when the water is murky or pumpkin seed body with chartuese tail when the water is clearer.every once and a while you will catch a sandie or two if you rig your jigs tandom.

give a man a fish feed him once teach a man to fish feed him for life

They closed the gate to the spillway parking lot because of the thieving. I emailed the Corps of Engineers and they won't open the parking lot anymore. Why didn't the lazy Grande Prairie cops make some effort to bust the thieves instead of stealing our fishing hole?

Let me chime in on this, Mtn Creek is north of the pool. The damn at the pool is on the north end of the lake. The creek flows to the north so that tells me that the water from the pool flows towards Mtn creek which means that the water is flowing down hill. So how can Mtn creek contaminate Joe pool or the creek?

The fish are swimming upstream to the dam from Mt. Creek ...It can't get to J.P because of the dam.(not damn) Those fish are not jumping over the J.P. dam to get into the creek...The fish are fish from Mt.Creek....Why do people have such a hard time understanding that,it is the same as trout swimming upstream...

I fish the Release gates all the time(not a spillway fyi) and have never had my vehicle broken into and it is no POS either. If you leave stuff out in plain view then you are asking for trouble.
Yes the water from the release gates feeds Mountain Creek and the fish below the release gates are from MC.
