Same thing. A few keeper sandies. Several unders, including a nice LMB just under. Bunch of yellows. Had trouble finding large shad too. Got some then could'nt find the fish we had seen before. Nice day though!

Nope...a few small white bass...no hybrids, yellows or lmb. Lots of birds and shad shallow but no fish. We got there at about 9:30 and left at noon.

nefishwilldo -- were you with 3 boys? I think I saw you as we were pulling off the ramp.

Morning was slow, a big LMB, a few yellows and a sandy. The evening was a little better for the large sandies but still nothing special. Rough day on the lake and I will blame it on the cold front and the drop of water temp. By late afternoon, I was reading 72 degrees while it was in the 60's that morning.

Large shad are very easy to come by. This is the easiest time of the year to get them and it doesnt get any easier. The shad are directly on the shoreline, no more than a foot from the shore along the west side of the lake. If you cant find them there, look along the points or coves using your electronics but I was able to throw the net twice and get about 20 gizzards and another 30 or so threads, with a few yellow bass mixed in. Once it warms and the shad move out a bit, electronics will be key to finding large schools. Actually, if you know the lake well enough, electronics will not be needed once the lake warms up.

No hybrids for me either but I did mark quite a few. I did not have shad at the time of marking because some bonehead believes he does not need them. At times, shad are the only thing they will take.

12-2pm 0 fish, no bites... Good thing my son still enjoys boat rides

According to my notes, they should be on the humps pretty thick by now. All my usual spots have been bare. I noticed posts where they are up shallow, but are ya'll getting em on humps as well. Hadn't been out much this year so no pattern to go from.

Fuzzy, we need to meeet up! I am waiting for the insurance adjuster to tell me how bad my boat got hit by the hail storm, and I will be out soon after. I am not touching my boat until then. The Kayak is getting used.

I had just put my Bay Stealth on the trailer, hooked the winch strap on and plopped myself down on the deck when you were getting out of your boat about noon. I thought I recognized you from a TFF Pic...but it was going to be hard to talk to you as my son was pulling me out of the water.

I have some TFF stickers coming so I will be easier to spot smile smile

Britton -- I hope the hail did not get your boat too bad. Miguel (Wetherford) has a broken gauge, but it still works and we did nto get any damage - Thank God!!

WW -- good to see you out fishing again!!! The pattern out there this year has been nuts -- shallow then deep and who knows where they went last weekend?? This is the first year that I have resorted to using bait and doing pretty good...I hate bait...I almost go home than do that smile smile

LL -- I know you reported a 23" hybrid when I saw you -- where's your post???

fuzzy, i seen you, you have a real nice boat by the way. i saw LL leaving to go out but didnt se him after that. If anyone catches a 23 hybrid they are doing really well. I havent figured the pattern out yet, usually by now i and my boys have a freezer full but its tough right now. i like benbrook because its so convienent for me . Be glad when fish turn around, they will eventually.

Hey Britton, we need to get together. I live on the north side of weatherford. You may have seen me pulling my Kenner through town. I am always looking for someone to either go along or a group to fish with. We had a great time on texoma this last weekend with my family. Give me a shout.

Benbrook...Threw out some shad, live and smashed from the point north of the airfield from about 7:30 to 9 tonight....Lots of extra small sandbass and some yellow bass...one nice sandbass. No catfish. I had high hopes. Still lots of yellow bass and shad next to shore as was stated in previous post. Also almost hauled in a big carp in the cast net..got one about a week ago (released un harmed),........The rail pipe sub gates are still closed. Apparently due to the "debris" not being picked up. Seems ok to me. I guess someone might stump their toe on a piece of driftwood or something.
