Had the wife and my 3yr old daughter and 6 yr old son in the upper end of little mineral all weekend having a ball. Morinings and evenings were spent on the rocky points from the mouth of Little Mineral back to the Lighthouse marina. 4" wildeyes on a 7' spinning rod with 8lb test may be my new favorite striper toy. Lots of 14-18" fish with several overs on every trip. My son was having a ball when he was not worrying that he was going to get pulled out of the boat.

Once the wildeye bite was over the bait bite was fun also. Good big bait was available on the windy shores and had several triples on at the same time. Nothing like having your wife on a rod, your son on a rod,and then having to hand one to your 3yr old and telling her to just hang on for a little while. WHAT A RODEO!!!!!!

Anyway, after a little cold and windy Saturday morning it turned out to be a great weekend.

We spent some time moving around the lake on Saturday afternoon but ultimately wound up back in Little Mineral for the best part of the evening with good fishing.

PS - thanks for the info that you guys responded with earlier in the week. It was a big help.

Good job! What part of the lake were you at? West end was nasty and the islands were slow at first then good but all small fish and nice sandbass.

Little Mineral seemed to be the best area for us. From the points at the mouth of the arm all the way down inside to the lighthouse marina area. Bait fish from 18' to 35' and fishing right up against the banks early morning and evenings with wildeyes.

Sunday evening was the worst trip I have had out in two weeks...

Wife and I were pretty much to ourselves around the islands and didn't catch much...

only very few splashin' up top and the wildeyes didn't produce...

Yea it was a bit slow for us Sunday. What a beautiful day on Texoma, until about noon when the loco boaters showed up. We managed about a dozen with a decent fish on a 4" wildeye. Stuck with plastics and jigs, didn't resort to live bait this time. Glad you tore 'em up Craig I bet the kids loved it.Lets see some pics. My phone should be back on by morning. If you call it you will get Lake Roberts mud in 14' of water until then.

We found whites and small striper schooling by the cliffs on the south side toward the dam. My 14 year old daughter and I caught a bunch on med. sized Bombers trolled through the school which never really mover throughout the morning. They would hit the top from time to time and seemed to be in 30-50ft. Before we ran out of shad we caught a nice(~3lb) striper up on the rocks as well as a few smallmouth bass, cats and smaller striper. Great day.

I took my boy out yesterday and we caught roughly 30 sandies and 20 stripers from 7:30-8:30 last night...

The rain let up and we decided to hook up the boat and go! smile

Caught them on 3" wildeyes and top water lures...the bigger striper and sandies came on top water lures!
