It sort of looks like something you'd use for climbing an icy cliff (such as a frozen waterfall)or a snow covered mountain, but I would think it would have a better grip for the handle.

I know! I know! It's a Japanese body shaper manufactured in late 1945. It was first designed in Hiroshima and used exclusively there and on the far outskirts of Nagasaki a few days later. It's designer is unknown and is believed to be the only one left in existance. You can go ahead and ship my lure...

you've got to be kidding I think it's part of a Ferrier's arsenal. I.E: horse-shoing tool old nail-puller in front, hoof cleaner/hole starter on the bottom -B
