Great catch fishing_tom! I'm heading out there Friday night if work permits. I haven't been out in a long time. I want to try and break my record at The Dam. My fish weighed in at just about 10lbs. By the looks of some recent catches my chances are looking better to go just that!

I know you guys probably don't want to hear this but if you keep all the big stripers you catch it will be just like the flood in 1990 when lots of big fish were caught and kept and a few years later big fish were few and far between. If you love catching these big fish do us all a favor and take pics and let them go.

Nope, It actually took the 1 oz bucktail i was using. Very weird i know, EVERYONE keeps thinking i snagged it. My buddy was with me and witness me prying the hook out its mouth.

Measured the catfish last night and it was 30 inchs. Thats the biggest catfish i ever caught (im a rookie). Now, how the hell do I cook this thing?

Thanks Steve. That makes me think twice about keeping the big ones. I can always keep some 5 pounders to eat, but I'm going to put back the big ones if I catch em.

Good idea, i think im gonna make Vietnamese style catfish in clay pot from midsection down. Then the rest cut up in chunks for batter fried.

Dude, I alway WOOT for any fish I caught big or small. Just the way we are. Wait until you see the rest of my group, boy all HEO will break lose on every fish caught.
We did alright, caught a bunch of little one, but only keep 8 2# to 3#. Try to catch some big MAMA, but she never show up. Going up to Tawakoni tonight and make up for last night.
We threw everything we got, but couldn't get the big one to hit.
