We had an eleven person Group join us for a day of fishing on Richland Chambers yesterday. We had a very good morning with Rat-L-Trap fish on the Flats early and then Slab fish in most of the Locations we fished after the Flats bite slowed. The Group was staying at the Lodge at Fisherman's Point and we did a Fish Fry Shore Lunch at Noon and then hit them again till around 4PM. Had a few undersized Hybrids and cleaned 240 Quality Whites. Didn't quite hit the limit of 275 Keepers, but came close. We've got one boat open on Monday, Thursday and Friday of this week, and then an Afternoon Slot open on Saturday. Adam has still been slaying the Crappie thru last Friday, but not sure how all this fresh water will effect the Spawn. Give us a call for "Family Fishing Fun" or just too fill the freezer! shellj22, Yes...I fished everyday this past week and had pretty easy limits on big fish every one of them. May is normally a very good Month with some Topwater action, some Suspended Rat-L-Trap fish, and lots' of Slab fish! Adam fished Monday-Friday for Crappie and had 40-50 fish boxes everyday. He had to help me with the Group trip yesterday. Give me a call if we need to get you in on the action! Royce www.gonefishin.biz

Hey, I bet their some happy campers at Fisherman's Point. Well Done!
I probably would have noticed the lake level had dropped from all that fish being removed but Mother-Nature said "Let their be RAIN" and it rained!

About as many boats as I've seen on RC...other than the major Summer Holidays. There was also a large Bass Tournament out of Oak Cove. Still, nothing compare to a DFW lake on a Weekend. I used to live in Cedar Hill and fish Joe Pool a lot. You could walk from boat to boat on a Saturday. Sure was fun to watch the antics at the Boat Ramp! Royce www.gonefishin.biz

Royce, how do you think this coming weekend will fair with this little weak front coming through? Will the whites still school on the 309 flats while there is a slight north wind they are predicting for saturday????

The better fish we caught in my boat were on the flats. We caught fish at every spot we stopped at. See a hump on the sonar, drop the slabs and a fish would come up. I'm gonna have to make it back soon. Wish I had such a lake closer to Houston. The only area that really had a crowd was the flats.
Fishing is always good, its the catching that varies.

do you stop on the humps or the deeper water just off the hump?
What technique do you use with slabs ?

Royce, I took out a Mr Matlock today from houston that has been with you & Adam before. He had nothing but great things to say about you both. As always you guys do a great job over there on RC. I am glad the bite has been good for you guys, keep up the good work.

Fish were on the slope and on top of the hump sometimes. Easy to spot where they were on the sonar.
