I don't white perch much but every year I try to take my dad and nephew a couple of times. Last year I tried some crappie nuggets by berkley and seems to have some success, we even caught several bream on them with nothing else on the hook. I was wondering if the berkley were the best brand or if you guys have any other suggestions. I noticed they fell off the hook pretty easy and wondering if there was another brand. I was also wondering about the colors, I'm fishing toledo bend. Thanks for all your help.

You need to take the nibbles out of the jar and let them dry out for a while and let them firm up.They will stay on the hook much longer.

Good tip, let them dry some!
JByrd, Try Bundick Lake. The creeks leading to it ought to be pretty good this time of year. Seeing it's just down the road from you.
That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Not everyone likes em' or uses em', but I think they help and even put em' on my minnow hook upper shanks as well.
I've tried several brands, but Berkeley is by far the best company making those "nibbles" IMHO. I got a Wally World about two blocks away, and when I get low and going out for a grocery run, I just go to Sporting Goods and pick me out a few jars in colors I need. I like the white and chartreuse ones the best.
Just my .02.

Let em sit out and harden, but not too much, because then they're hard to get past the barb and when that barb shoots through and gets your finger or thumb, it don't feel good I'll tell ya that.

Yeah, Nitro ones are too big and fall off super easy, even more than the fresh Berkley ones. Nitro and other brands suck, period.
