Im looking to get a new rod and reel dedicated to finesse fishing and instead of going with another spinning reel I was thinking of going with casting equipment. I will be using this rig with 6-8lb test flouro and will be throwing shaky heads, dropshots, weightless trickworms, and wacky jigheads. I know alot of people use spinning gear for these applications and I currently am; but I just feel I have more accuracy, control, and feel with casting equipment. Does anyone have a suggestion on a rod and reel combo that would be good for this? I was thinking a Shimano 50mg on some kind of Falcon rod...maybe a weightless worm rod. Any suggestions?

try out the Dobyns DX702c and a 50 mg would be good.
im using the DX702c with a H20 Mettle reel and 8lb sunline FC sniper.it works great.

50mg for sure with a 782c, 842c, or 802c from Loomis should be excellent.

I used an AllPro 6'6" light with an Ardent reel to throw light shakey heads and wacky worms. Works great.

Ditto on the SOL reel w/ the falcon weightless worm rod. Close 2nd is the same rod w/ a Revo XS. Either one will let you leave the fairy wond behind. LOL.

These are just a few rods from Falcons great selection.

The key is to use multiple rods and find what fits you.
Falcon has a great selection.

Team Daiwa Sol is the reel for the job.

The rod would depend on how much you want to spend. Falcon makes a good rod and would be a nice choice. Kistler makes several different models at different price points, I have used a 6'9" LTA for several years with a lot of success. Lately I have gotten a Powell 634CB that is a dream to throw. Powell reccommends the 682CEF so it might be even better.

"Fairy wand", sounds like a personal issue.

try a hendrix sj782 teamed with a team diawa vineto or sol and you have a winner.

For finesse baitcasting I use a 50 MG with a G Loomis 782. I have the GLX and the IMX. They have a good backbone, but light enough tip to not break 8lb. fluorocarbon line on a hookset. The rod and reel will easily cast a 1/8 oz. shakey-head with enough distance. I use both rods for fishing shakey-head jigs and drop-shots.

I use a Shimano 51MG on a G-Loomis BCR803GLX for most of my finesse fishing. I use 8lb Trilene 100% fluorocarbon for most applications and 10lb braid for others.

Go with the MG50...you will not be sorry.
If your going to be doing a lot of drop-shotting I would go with a GLoomis DSR822C which is the casting version of their D/s rod. This combo is feather light and a real pleasure to use.
Yes it is a fairly application specific rod, but I have used mine with shakey heads and wacky worm in addition to the drop-shot and it covers each technique well as long as your not throwing really heavy shakey heads and it has enough backbone to actually turn a fish when needed (which is why I moved away from dropshotting with a fairy wand once I moved to Texas, you simply cannot turn these strong fish with the type of spinning rod needed for dropshotting).
And of course if is perfect for dropshotting.
