I almost lost my big 22 ft. cc boat on tawakoni sunday..chasin birds in the middle of the lake...takin lots of water over the front and bilge quits..... we loaded up,,drained the water ,,replaced the bilge and went back out for some more....THAT WAS REALLY STUPID............

My boat is equipped with 2 bilge pumps. One auto and one manual.

did the same thing with my last skeeter i had in 89,not a good feeling,good thing there was a nice guy around that saw us do it and picked us up.hope he was ok.

To get it back to land, just tie off to the boat hook and tow. If you pull the plug most likely most of the water would be out of the boat before you got to shore...

That boat is as deap in the water is it's likely to go, and if the people on it weren't picked up they would be foolish to leave the boat and try to swim for shore.

Any boat built since the early 80's is required to have enough floatation that it will not go to the bottom, and the safest place on the lake in a sinking boat is with the boat unless weather makes thing different.

It's harder to find a floating person on the water than it is to find a damaged boat, the biggest mistake that people make in that situation is trying to swim to shore. Better to just sit with the boat and wave down someone else....

The only problem with that is a stump is probably sticking through the hull. I would not want to tow it like that. There would not be much left.
