Whatever.....

I don't see reoccurring posts of guys having issues with Falcons breaking. Can't say the same about Kistlers. Has nothing to do with "class". The same guy breaking LTAs can't seem to break the Caras or G-Loomis in the same box.

I BROKE BOTH MY KISTLERS AS WELL. THE HELIUM II WAS BROKEN ON THE FIRST OUTING, FIRST FISH. I WOULDN'T USE ANOTHER ONE IF IT WAS FREE. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY TOO BRITTLE. ANYONE WITH A HALF WAY DECENT HOOK SET WILL SNAP ONE. AND WHO WANTS TO CARRY THEIR ROD IN A CASE BECAUSE IT IS SO FRAGILE.

I have never had a problem with my Kistlers. I have about 10, all Helium LTA's. If you guys are breaking rods on swings and hooksets, its probably because you are placing your hand on the rod in front of the reel. That is going to break any rod period. That hasnt been mentioned, but it could be the problem on some.

I have noticed that a number of pros grab there rods in front of the reel seat to set the hook. Especially Jason Quinn and Iaconelli. Maybe we should see which rods they are using, because I haven't seen them break any, unless you count when Ike throws a fit. LOL!

Oh, go to an elite event and you will see first hand "Pros" breaking rods. Some of them have hooksets that would break any rod on the market. You will see broken E21's, Falcons, Kistlers, Castaways and All Stars, etc laying broken in every pros boat.
They arent going to have a TV show with Jason Quinn snapping All Stars left and right.

I have to agree with Sinkey. I have broken all kinds of rods over the years. I have been using Kistlers for a while, and have all of the current types they sell, and have not broke any of them. I have also used Falcons, Loomis, All Star, Shimanos, and have broke a few different ones in the past. There is no way someone should break 5 rods like that unless something is wrong with how they are handling, or treating the rods.

I have been on Kistler's Pro-Staff for 3 years. For the past 3 years I have never had a Kistler rod break on me or one of my customers. Kistlers customer service has alway been outstanding. Please Give Ryan or Trey a call.

Well I haven't seen the other post about this kid not telling the truth but i got the story from the Director of the Pro Staff for Kistler. It's sad one guy gets busted for trying to get something for nothing and it turns into a bashing party. Everyone has their favorites..what they are more comfortable with and that's their perrogative. I have to agree with my fellow Prostaffer....if you are breaking 5 rods...i think i would look at what i was doing. I am not going to sit here and tell you I baby my rods...as a matter of fact I put them thru hell and i haven't had a problem. I have not had a Kistler break on me yet. that's not saying it won't happen...it might but it will more than likely be my fault. I have all the proof i need when it comes to the strength of the Kistler rod. When i fished the BFL on the red river a couple of weeks ago i caught a 3 foot gator on a top water frog in some serious slop.I pulled that thing in, out, and over the matted weeds. then once i got it to the boat i pulled it up out of the water WITH the rod and took a picture with my phone. the next day during the tourney i caught the big bass for the event on the same rod and didn't have problem there either. If you can break that rod with a hookset..you need to question what you are trying to set the hook on. If someone will tell me how to post a pic i'll post the pic of the gator or someone can post it for me.

This is the picture of the Alligator mentioned in the post above.

I cannot say a whole lot one way or the other about this post exept it seems everyone is beating a dead horse.
I myself have never purchased a Kistler Rod. But I have been given two as gifts. One was bought from Trey himself years ago when he was still doing the Dallas fishing show. It is probably close to 10 yrs old. I used it all weekend flipping brush with braid, and have always used this rod in that matter.
The other is a Composite cranking rid that was given to me by a guy that I drew as a non boater at the top 6 tournament on Amistad. It is my favorite rod for chunking everything from Square Bills to Norman Middle Ns.

I have broken many many rods. Some less than a year old. By other brands people in the subject are saying they never break. I will not call them liars. I will not get on a public forum, and bash them. Most of the time when we break a rod it was our fault. Period end of story.

As far as customer service I can say this. About a month ago I sent Kistler an email through their website, asked a few questions about warranty, and which one of their rods they suggested for deep diving cranks. Within two hours a gentleman named Ryan CALLED me. I was pleasantly suprised. Haveing never have had a company treat my inquires so personally.

So I say to everyone getting on here bashing. Get a life. If you do not like Kistlers nobody is forcing you to buy them.
