This was the best pic I was going to get, I am not a snake fan and wasnt about to get any closer. He was right outside the door at my warehouse, I thought it was rubber and one of the employees was playing a prank, until it moved and its tongue started darting in and out.The second pic I took the background out in hopes of seeing the color better. During the wild swinging of the ax and taking out the bushes trying to take its head off, it was darting at us and had some fangs. Probably wouldnt have felt it neccessary to kill it, but thats the door my customers come and go from, could take any chances.

Looked like a copperhead to me, of course I probably would have taken its head of even if it were rubber...

Some things here under heaven are just cooler than hell.

No doubt about it, that is a water moccasin aka: Cottonmouth. Just about everyone knows that I am terrified of snakes and scream like a six-year-old schoolgirl when I see one. I would be the one in the background screaming for somebody to shoot it!

Great pics !

That is no banded water snake, that is a moccassin for sure. A good way to identify a venomous snake is to look at the shape of the head. 3/4 of our venomous snakes are Pit Vipers and have that diamond shape head. The only venomous snake in the country that is not a pit viper is the coral snake and it does not have a diamond shaped head. But that one is easy to identify.

You ever been bit by one, you ever seen the effects of a bite. Then shut your mouth if you have not, it is not a pretty sight.

Aspiring to be a bass pro.

Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their mysery no more.

For a few weeks I was seriously having my doubts that you were the same jholman that came on the board last month and really put your foot up in your special place. My doubts are completely gone now and I thank you for clearing that up.

Have a nice day and smile at someone special! laugh
