I have never been inside of a Cabelas. I prefer BPS only because it is closer to me. I have bought from both online though. I like a lot of selection that Cabelas has, and wish they would open a store closer to me.

I have been inside 3 different Cabelas and have never been impressed. And around here it is way too far for me, 45 miles with too much traffic and construction going on, no way.

BPS has a better selection for most things. And I used BPS rods for many years with no problems before I could justify the price of better(higher priced) rods .

I live too far from either. I got turned on to Tacklewarehouse.com by someone from the TFF. No sales tax, free shipping for orders over $50.00, no fuel cost. It's kinda fun listening for that FEDEX truck come up the street. Almost all my shopping is online now that I live in the country.

I think the selection at BPS is better as well. And Cabelas is a long haul from Garland at 3.50 a gallon.

BPS has a better selection and more organized than Cabelas. Too bad BPS is farther than Cabelas to me. Oh well it's Academy then Cabelas due to location for me!

BPS is the only way to go. Cabelas is more for the hunter in my opinion.
