mono tends to float so it makes it great for carolina rig leaders or if you want a slow falling weightless worm, senko or fluke and some people prefer it for crankbaits.

flourocarbon sinks therefore not prefered for carolina leaders. but I like flourocarbon for my weightless application (senkos, flukes and other weightless stuff) , it is more sensitive and has less stretch. I like it for rattletrap type baits so you can feel it tick the top of the grass.

both have their pros and cons for sure. I use flourocarbon for my texas rigs, jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, drop shots etc..unless I am fishing lake falcon with randy taylor then its braid.
hope that helps some

Floro seems to have to much memory to me, however I do like the floro coated P-line

They call it fishing, not catching for a reason..

Just one cast and you could have your name in the books!

Everything Mike Keenan said except, I use Braid on my jigs. Just make sure you re-tie Fluro if you get the slightest crimp or abrasion.

If it isn't topwater, heavy Flippin', or a slow fall c-rig leader it's flouro all the way.

I am not completely sold on this flourocarbon rage. I use it for a few techniques, such as shakey head and senko, but this line is very tempermental. I do not like the fact that if you dare not extremely careful on your knot , this stuff will snap in a heartbeat. Most flouro tends to have a lot of memory, unless you spray the line after every trip with line conditioner.
I think everyone has talked themselves into using this stuff. I will admit that it does have some advatages, but I have caught thousands of fish on mono. I'm sure everyone can remember catching fish for decades on mono. Why is it that everyone has tunnel-vision on this fluoro line??

i use p line ultiment flourocarbon probably 60 percent of the time.
i like it because its very sensitive and it sinks which keeps your bait on the bottom where it needs to be. i use copolymer lines when fishing treble hooked baits because it has the small diamiter of flourocarbon but the stretch of mono which prevents tearing the hooks out.
make sure when using flouro to re tie often and check your line for abrasion.

So flouro breaks easier when it gets nicks or cinks?

Many do, but since I switched to Trilene 100% Flourocarbon I haven't had a problem.

I've pretty much quit using mono-only on topwaters. I REALLY like P-Line Floroclear.

What about the diameter of the line is there any difference between the 2? What about the difference in seeeing the line, can flouro or mono being seen more?

Pick up this months copy of In-Fisherman magaine. They have a pretty good article on flouro. The rest of the magazine sucks since they focus on northern species but the article is pretty good.

I've noticed that when using a popper like a Yellow Magic, you can't just let the popper sit for very long because flourocarbon line sinks, and then the action of the popper is greatly diminished. P-Line's FlouroClear is a flourocarbon coated line, thus it stays up on the surface better.
