How long can you safely keep a bag of filets in the refrigerator before preparing and cooking? I have a bag of filets that I didn't freeze, have been refrigerated since they were fileted.

They've been in the fridge for 1 week and 2 days?

Any thoughts based on experience?

Jeff

Don't think I would eat them. Thats just me. I always eat mine within 2 days or freeze them within 1 day. Smell is the best way to tell if they are ok for human consumption. sick

Keep on fishing.

Yeah, that's a little too long in the fridge for any type of fish.

I have had them in the fridge for as long as a week before. They were in a bowl full of water and completely submerged. I have eaten them straight out of the fridge or after I froze them and never had any problems with taste or sickness.
