Mustang Island state park has tent sites with water/elec. they also have showers and its a state park so its good for family. Take lots of bug spray.. You can also camp right by the pier close to the jetties and they have showers also. Goose island in Rockport is also a real nice place to camp..Take lots of bug spray

Port Aransas has a park right on the beach....some camping on the beach and some camping behind the dunes. All the stuff behind the dunes is rigged with water and electricity. The bathhouse behind the dunes comes with the park fee. The one on the beach you have to pay for the use of the shower......of course, there are the "open" showers to get the sand off.
The park is run by the county.....Goose Island is run by the state.....not sure how your camping, but if you want a sleeping bag full of sand, go to Port A....if not, Goose Island may be your spot. If Goose Island, try to get the bay front spots.

We always stayed at Nueces county park, I think they call it I.B.Mcgee now. Close to the jetties and only a 100 yards to the beach. They were building a new office, restrooms and showers last year but dont know if they are open yet, maybe someone can update. You can also camp right on the beach if you dont need electricity. Great location, close to town too. A little crowded on the weekends but what isn't. http://nuecesbeachparks.com/ibpark.html
