I have found one benefit to back breaking waves on windy days. I went out the other day and rather than risking my body to go where I wanted, I went some place I have never been. It was the only place I could get to that was halfway calm. Ended up catching 3 good sized bass and at the same time found a new place to fish on a lake I always go to.

When it is too much for the size boat you have. Seems like we have fished in high winds all year.

I agree! cheers

That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Wind is why you are not seeing sharelunkers out of AH in the last few years. When the water turns to chocolate milk and I can't keep on my spot to at least throw a spinner bait or DD-22 its time to go home. I would say 20 to 25 is average at the lake in the spring with every 3 or 4 days pushing 40 plus when every front blows in. If I had to wait for the wind to slow down I would get very little time on the water.

Fun fishing 20-25mph depending on the direction and the lake.

Above 15mph I'll pick the lake I fish and ramp I launch depending on the direction.

In a tournament I'll go in anything.

I think there are two things to conconsider. First is if it becomes a risk or safety becomes an issue then it's absolutely to windy. Second, Every fisherman has differ levels they are comfortable with and that varies with each person. So if your not comfortable operating because of the wind then for you thats to much.
